STATUS

Ideal project

Inspired by the nearby ruins of the medieval castle of St. George, the project integrates into the rural landscape through multiple separate buildings that form an authentic layout.

The architecture uses simple volumes, gable roofs, and stone details, while materials such as natural stone, rough plaster, wood, and patinated roof tiles are harmonized with the local environment. The landscape is connected to the buildings through dry stone walls, olive trees, cypresses, and Mediterranean vegetation.
The diffuse hotel concept offers privacy and tranquillity, with accommodation units ranging from rustic to minimalist interiors overlooking the river valley and the old castle. Shared spaces—such as outdoor kitchens and naturally filtered pools—are designed as extensions of the landscape.
The project respects the natural terrain, uses local materials, and emphasizes energy efficiency, creating an architectural homage to the Istrian land and its silence.
