This freestanding building is predominantly dedicated to sports use, complemented by a smaller hospitality component. Conceived as a modern hub for sport, recreation, and social interaction, the building is carefully integrated into the surrounding Mediterranean landscape.
Set on a 60,000 m² site, the two-story building with a gross floor area of 2,200 m² already represents a significant contribution to the city’s sports and tourism infrastructure.
This freestanding building is predominantly dedicated to sports use, complemented by a smaller hospitality component. Conceived as a modern hub for sport, recreation, and social interaction, the building is carefully integrated into the surrounding Mediterranean landscape.
The exterior architectural expression reflects a contemporary minimalist approach, defined by clear lines and a carefully selected material palette. A combination of reinforced concrete, expansive glass surfaces, and lightweight metal panels gives the building a dynamic yet understated character. The color scheme is restrained, dominated by light beige tones contrasted with darker accents.
Windows and glazed facades are positioned in accordance with the building’s internal functional zones, ensuring optimal daylight penetration and effective natural ventilation. The spectator stands are protected by a steel canopy—an element thoughtfully resolved both aesthetically and structurally.
The surrounding landscape design follows high standards of landscape architecture. Green edges, paved circulation paths, and Mediterranean planting contribute to the seamless integration of the building into the wider Stella Maris resort.
The new sports center represents a carefully considered synthesis of contemporary architecture and functional design. More than a facility for athletes and recreational users, the building establishes itself as an important social and communal focal point in a city renowned for sports tourism.
