This family house is located in a compact village setting in the inland area of north-western Istria and is designed as a refined contemporary interpretation of traditional Mediterranean residential architecture. With a total gross floor area of 170 m², the house is conceived as a compact yet carefully articulated volume that fits naturally into the dense village fabric.

Light, textured plaster surfaces are combined with soft green wooden shutters, slender metal railings, and carefully detailed window openings, creating a calm and timeless appearance. Arched openings and subtle classical references are reinterpreted in a contemporary manner, giving the house a distinctive but understated character.
Outdoor spaces are an essential part of the design. A covered terrace with a pergola, shaded by climbing vegetation, forms the heart of the exterior living area and extends daily life toward the garden. Natural stone paving, low stone walls, ceramic pots, and Mediterranean planting shape a series of intimate outdoor rooms, while the swimming pool is integrated as a quiet focal point within the enclosed courtyard.
The material palette and landscaping are carefully coordinated to reinforce a warm, domestic atmosphere and a strong sense of place. The result is a compact yet expressive family home that balances traditional Istrian elements with contemporary comfort and precise architectural detailing.
